A WSO2 Case Study
Engineering Ingegneria Informatica needed a secure, efficient home care solution to help senior citizens and disabled people monitor their health, manage medical-device data, and keep caregivers and medical staff informed. To address this challenge, the company worked with WSO2 technology, using a reference architecture built around integration, analytics, API management, IoT, and identity and access management.
WSO2 implemented a connected platform that collected and normalized data from home medical devices, analyzed events in real time, sent notifications, and exposed information to medical staff through web, mobile, and API-based interfaces. The solution also enforced security and privacy through WSO2 Identity Server and governance tools, while a remote presence device called Joe Care extended monitoring inside the home. The result was a scalable, open-source home care architecture that improved patient oversight and supported future expansion to wearables and cloud deployment.
