A WSO2 Case Study
BDO Unibank, the largest bank in the Philippines, needed a better way to connect its growing number of applications and web services after moving beyond a legacy point-to-point environment. The bank wanted to speed up business processes, streamline secure data exchange, and improve both operational efficiency and customer experience, and it chose WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus as part of its integration approach.
WSO2 implemented four instances of WSO2 ESB (now WSO2 Enterprise Integrator) as an integration layer, handling message transformation and mediation while meeting BDO’s security needs. The impact was immediate: BDO’s online payment app began crediting payments in real time instead of end of day, processing up to 10,000 transactions daily, with more than 250,000 transactions expected to pass through WSO2 ESB by the end of 2017.
