BDigital Delivers E-Health and Smart Home Platform Using the WSO2 Carbon Platform

Barcelona Digital Technology Center (BDigital), a non-profit R&D organization, faced the challenge of scaling its eKauri e-health and smart home platform for seniors beyond a successful pilot. They needed a highly scalable and flexible solution to manage the diverse services and data for their full production system. To meet this need, BDigital selected the WSO2 middleware platform, including WSO2 API Manager, WSO2 Identity Server, WSO2 ESB, and WSO2 Application Server.

Leveraging the pre-integrated and modular WSO2 products, BDigital built a decoupled, RESTful architecture that efficiently manages APIs, user identity, service mediation, and web applications from the cloud. The implementation with WSO2 accelerated development, allowing the team to deliver the first minimally viable product three months ahead of schedule. This has enabled BDigital to begin rolling out its innovative platform to 100 smart homes, providing critical health, security, and communication services to seniors.
