BarclaycardUS Optimizes Backend Services and Performance Across 10 Distinct Environments with WSO2 ESB

BarclaycardUS, a large financial services company, faced the challenge of integrating with numerous backend partners and service providers who used different protocols and domains at very high volumes. This complex environment created a need for a common backbone to connect their diverse services. To address this, they turned to vendor WSO2 and implemented the WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus (WSO2 ESB) to serve as the core of their service-oriented architecture.

The solution from WSO2 enabled BarclaycardUS to orchestrate services across 10 distinct environments, significantly improving performance and monitoring. A key result was the optimization of a new account aggregator service, which reduced data loading times for external partners from minutes to under a second. BarclaycardUS also leverages other WSO2 products for governance and monitoring and plans future use of WSO2's identity and API management solutions to further enhance their cohesive API strategy.
