Australian Catholic University Enhances Student Experience and Improves Productivity Using Open Source WSO2 Platform

Australian Catholic University (ACU) was facing a challenge with its disparate legacy systems, which forced students to manage multiple logins and interfaces, leading to complaints and reduced productivity. To address this, ACU sought a solution to aggregate information and provide a single, seamless user experience, ultimately choosing the open source WSO2 platform, specifically WSO2 ESB and WSO2 Identity Server, for its integration and identity management needs.

WSO2 implemented a solution that integrated its ESB and Identity Server with ACU's Sitecore content management system. The WSO2 ESB served as the central integration hub, orchestrating services and unifying student data, while WSO2 Identity Server powered a single sign-on (SSO) solution for seamless access. The results were highly positive, with 34% of portal usage coming from mobile devices and students spending over six minutes per session, indicating strong engagement and a significantly improved user experience.
