API-Led Integration Powers Digital Transformation at Karnataka Bank

Karnataka Bank, a 126-year-old private bank in India, needed to modernize its digital banking operations because its applications were siloed and many processes were still manual, causing customer services to take days and increasing the risk of human error. To support faster, more seamless service delivery, the bank partnered with WSO2 through Exzatech and used WSO2 API Manager as part of its digital transformation effort.

WSO2 helped Karnataka Bank build a scalable, microservices-based digital platform with API design, publishing, governance, access control, and security capabilities. As a result, the bank automated and modernized about 80% of its processes, boosted productivity by 1,000x, and reduced service turnaround times from days to just 4–20 minutes, while also enabling fully integrated digital banking for more than 11 million customers.
