AlmavivA and WSO2 Help Italian Ministry of Economy and Finances to Manage Central Data Repository for 1.6 Million Employees

The Italian Ministry of Economy and Finances (MEF) faced issues with data inconsistency and management due to its heterogeneous, independent services that stored data separately. To centralize its master data, MEF partnered with vendor WSO2 and its integration partner, AlmavivA Group, to build a new master data management solution utilizing the WSO2 middleware platform.

The solution, called Anagrafica Unica, was built on-premises using an Oracle database and five integrated WSO2 products: ESB, Data Services Server, Identity Server, Message Broker, and Governance Registry. This WSO2-based system now provides a centralized repository for the personal data of 1.6 million public sector employees, successfully processing over 250,000 write operations and 2 million read operations monthly, which streamlined data management and ensured secure access to accurate information.
