A Smarter Transport Management System for London with the Help of WSO2

Transport for London (TfL) faced the challenge of keeping a city of more than 8 million people moving while reducing congestion, improving road safety, and responding to incidents faster. Using its Surface Intelligent Transport System (SITS) and road-management platform LondonWorks, TfL needed better real-time insight from data gathered across roads, junctions, sensors, GPS, and bus routes.

WSO2 provided API management, integration, identity and access management, and analytics products to power TfL’s transport management system on a private cloud. With WSO2, TfL improved incident detection and response, cutting delay response time by 15 minutes and creating a smarter data-driven approach to managing roadworks, congestion, and commuter journeys across London.
