Rheumatology Practice Relieves Pain with WRS EMR

Dr. Paul Mahfood of Rheumatology Associates of South Florida needed a web-based rheumatology EMR that fit his solo practice’s comprehensive services — from onsite digital X-rays and musculoskeletal ultrasound to detailed neurologic and joint exams. After an unsatisfying experience with NextGen, he wanted a system that was user-friendly, highly customizable, and that would streamline billing, scheduling and e-prescribing to reduce staff workload.

He implemented Waiting Room Solutions (WRS) EMR and Practice Management, working with WRS to build and modify Visit2 templates (including joint, muscle and nerve anatomy and expanded neuro components) and to enable on-the-spot edits. The result: smoother same-day coding and claim submission, faster reimbursements (better than national averages for claims/denials), efficient appointment reminders and fax management, and successful e-prescribing that helped him qualify for Meaningful Use incentives — freeing him to focus on patient care.
