Express Watches, an online watch retailer, faced the common challenge of choosing whether to prominently promote their low prices or the authenticity of their products on their website to best attract customers. To address this, they worked with vendor Writecream to test these competing value propositions and determine which message would resonate more effectively with their audience.
Writecream implemented an experiment where two different messages were tested: a "lowest price promise" and an "authorized dealer" authenticity badge. The results were significant, showing that the badge of authenticity vastly outperformed the price-based message. This simple change, implemented by Writecream, led to a 107 percent boost in online sales for Express Watches.
