Xero is a global cloud accounting platform with more than 1.4 million subscribers in 180+ countries, known for its “beautiful,” easy-to-use customer experience. Internally, however, the company’s intranet suffered from duplication, clunky authentication, poor mobile support and low engagement, so Xero needed a simplified, user-friendly communications platform that matched its external product.

Xero rebuilt its intranet using WordPress on WP Engine, partnering with design agency NZ Digital and integrating SAML/OKTA authentication and Slack for notifications. The fast-to-deploy, customizable solution made publishing simple, improved UI and reliability, and delivered roughly a 25% increase in usage and engagement (about two-thirds of staff now log in monthly), along with time and cost savings.
