Preview of the Texas Parks & Wildlife Case Study

Texas Parks & Wildlife migrates 1,500,000 records to WP Engine for a modern LMS

Texas Parks & Wildlife, a state agency, needed to replace its outdated, 30-year-old legacy systems to manage the nation's largest hunter and boater education program. Their challenge was to streamline operations for 90,000 annual learners, 3,200 volunteer instructors, and third-party vendors, integrating complex e-commerce and multiple databases. To build a modern, enterprise-grade Learning Management System (LMS), they partnered with WP Engine for its managed WordPress platform.

The solution, implemented by Element Learning Management Solutions on WP Engine's hosting, was a new Online Registration System. This agile WordPress-based LMS integrated e-commerce with the state payment gateway, unified databases, and connected with a statewide retail point-of-sale system. The results for Texas Parks & Wildlife included significant annual cost savings by eliminating printed licenses, streamlined processes for all users, and a modular platform for future innovation, all secured and maintained by WP Engine.
