Yale University builds a 20-by-40-foot immersive lab in under two months with WorldViz

The customer, Yale University, faced the challenge of creating a groundbreaking interactive visualization lab to support immersive experiential research and cross-disciplinary collaboration. They partnered with vendor WorldViz to design and deliver a cutting-edge immersive installation for their Built Environment Ecosystem Measurements (BEEM) Lab.

WorldViz implemented a custom solution featuring a 16-projector blended system powered by a dual-computer cluster and utilizing their Vizard VR software toolkit. This created a seamless, wrap-around projection environment that allows researchers to simultaneously analyze multiple data types within dynamic and interactive 3D presentations. The entire solution was conceived, built, and installed in under two months, transforming two classrooms into a state-of-the-art facility that enables Yale to conduct transformative, cross-disciplinary research on sustainable urban development.
