University of Dayton School of Engineering builds a 300-square-foot VR lab with WorldViz

The University of Dayton School of Engineering sought to become a leader in construction technology and provide students with hands-on experience in emerging technologies. To achieve this, they partnered with WorldViz to implement a cutting-edge virtual and mixed reality lab.

WorldViz installed a wrap-around VizMove Projection VR system and two eye-tracking VR headset systems. This solution allows students and researchers to physically walk through previsualizations of construction projects and provides a collaborative design review environment for industry partners. The results have opened up new possibilities for the university, enabling immersive, on-campus interaction with job sites and data analytics, while the integrated eye-tracking provides valuable research data to inform future design decisions.
