Pearl iZumi Relies on Worldly to Stay at the Forefront of Innovation

Pearl iZumi, a bike apparel company, sought to evolve its sustainability efforts from arbitrary standards to a data-driven approach. Their challenge was to accurately measure and reduce the environmental impact of their products across their entire value chain. To achieve this, they partnered with the vendor Worldly and adopted its sustainability insights platform, which utilizes the Higg Product Tools.

Worldly provided the data and tools necessary for Pearl iZumi to holistically measure their products' cradle-to-gate impact, including their global warming potential. This led to the creation of their innovative "Pedal to Zero" campaign, which quantified the miles a customer must ride to offset a product's CO2 emissions. Furthermore, Worldly enabled the company to set data-backed material performance parameters, identify key areas for improvement like fabric selection, and prepare for new regulations, solidifying their position as a leader in sustainable innovation.
