OrderX is a Norwegian startup that set out to eliminate long queues at festivals and events by rethinking the customer journey and combining Bottoms Up beer dispensers with app‑based ordering. To handle the high payment and scalability demands of large events, OrderX partnered with Worldline, using its Bambora payment services (card terminals and Bambora Checkout) to support both contactless card and in‑app payments.
At Norway’s Fotballfesten Worldline‑supported Bambora terminals and OrderX’s Bottoms Up dispensers cut average ordering time to 6.5 seconds, helping the bar increase beer sales by 60% while attendance rose only 10%. Worldline’s fast onboarding and ability to deploy hundreds of terminals made rapid scale‑up possible and enabled OrderX to expand in‑app pre‑ordering with Bambora Checkout, reducing queues and boosting revenue.
