A Worldline Case Study
Lagerhaus, a Swedish furnishing retailer, faced the challenge of attracting digitally savvy customers back to brick-and-mortar stores by eliminating queues and giving shoppers the quick, self-directed experience they expect online. To do this they partnered with Worldline (working with POS supplier Sitoo and the Bambora payment solution) to introduce in‑store self‑service checkouts as part of a broader unified‑commerce strategy.
Worldline’s payment solution helped roll out self‑service checkouts to all 44 Lagerhaus stores in Sweden and Norway within six weeks, shifting staff to sales roles and improving in‑store productivity. The initiative drove higher average purchases and increased revenues, with some stores reaching nearly 90% user adoption of the kiosks; Lagerhaus also launched a customer club that attracted 15,000 members in its first week as they build toward more personalized, cross‑channel experiences.
