Alarm.com Transforms Culture with Employee Recognition & Rewards Platform

Alarm.com, a security software company with about 2,100 employees, needed a more deliberate and scalable culture of recognition after rapid growth and multiple mergers and acquisitions. Survey data showed many employees felt underappreciated by managers, and the company’s existing recognition efforts reached only a small portion of the workforce. Alarm.com chose WorkTango’s Recognition & Rewards platform to help create a more inclusive, consistent employee appreciation program.

WorkTango implemented peer-to-peer recognition, incentives, automated milestone celebrations, and budgeting tools, with a phased rollout that included IT, managers, and then the broader company. Alarm.com also used WorkTango to support onboarding, compliance training, referrals, and manager engagement initiatives, including friendly competitions and leadership-led experiences. The results included 85.7% manager platform engagement in 2023, faster compliance training and open enrollment completion, increased employee referrals, smoother post-M&A culture integration, and a positive impact on sales performance.
