Houston Eye Associates (HEA) is the largest ophthalmology practice in the U.S., with 29 locations, 56 ophthalmologists, 600 staff and about $100M in annual revenue. The practice faced chronic IT problems from an aging Citrix XenApp infrastructure and old Windows servers: printer and peripheral failures, frequent server reboots that booted users out, and slow exam-room PCs that created 30–40 minutes of lost productivity per doctor and long patient wait times.

HEA rebuilt its data center with HPE hardware and deployed Workspot to deliver virtual Windows applications via a customized client that preserved room-based service accounts (kiosk behavior). The new solution eliminated peripheral issues, dramatically increased system speed, and spread quickly among users—saving each doctor an estimated 30–60 minutes per day, reducing patient wait times and enabling staff to see more patients.
