How Metso is Realizing 97% Time Savings Over Manual Approaches to Quality Assurance

Metso, a €3.9 billion provider of technology, automation and services to the mining, construction and oil & gas industries with over 16,000 employees in 50 countries, faced unreliable, slow manual QA for its enterprise business processes that increased change-management risk and delayed changes to production. Ensuring repeatable, end‑to‑end process validation across SAP systems became a priority.

Metso implemented automated business‑process validation using Worksoft Certify together with SAP Solution Manager, automating 45 end‑to‑end processes (182 transactional processes and 3,981 steps) and achieving about 97% time savings versus manual testing. The automation improved repeatability and risk mitigation, enabled more frequent testing and greater agility, and set targets to automate 80–90% of validations and move to lights‑out overnight testing.
