A Worksoft Case Study
Siemens, a global technology conglomerate with over 370,000 employees and dozens of SAP systems supporting core business processes, faced growing testing challenges as it centralized IT and shifted to agile delivery. Frequent support‑package and HANA/S/4HANA upgrades, tight end‑to‑end process integration, and mostly manual testing drove heavy resource use (roughly 1,000 person‑days for complex projects) and increased risk for downstream defects.
Siemens piloted and then rolled out Worksoft Certify for end‑to‑end automated business‑process testing, training business analysts to create tests without programming and integrating test artifacts with SAP Solution Manager. The automation reached about 60% coverage of core functionality in a major consolidation (350 transactions, ~10,000 steps) and now supports testing across more than 20 SAP systems, enabling faster, more frequent test cycles, fewer go‑live issues, better documentation and auditability, and more efficient handling of both large projects and small fixes.
