Bombardier, a global manufacturer with 65,400 employees and some 19,000 active SAP users, faced rising SAP life‑cycle and testing costs across a large, complex ECC 6.0 environment. Testing was central to change management but was expensive and labor‑intensive: legacy tools demanded heavy technical skills, produced hard‑to‑maintain scripts and limited reuse, and Bombardier needed a way to reduce SAP support costs while increasing the number of concurrent rollout projects.

Bombardier implemented Solution Manager alongside Worksoft Certify to automate end‑to‑end SAP testing; in about 15 weeks three FTEs built 50 reusable scripts covering 30 business processes and 120 transactions. The result: business users (and even interns under guidance) could run tests, testing cycles per project doubled from two to four, production issues and go‑live support costs dropped, releases increased reliably, UAT was streamlined, and test‑script reusability improved substantially.
