Gables Residential, a real estate company with about 1,200 staff in the USA, was looking to replace a traditional top-down recognition approach that rewarded popularity more than performance. Its legacy programs were manual, inconsistent, and limited to once-a-year banquet events, leaving many associates unclear about what they were being recognized for. WorkProud provided its platform and mobile app to help modernize the employee recognition experience.
WorkProud implemented peer-to-peer social recognition, manager awards, spot awards, gamification, and multiple integrated programs on one platform, including wellness, sales, milestones, and performance management. The new program was funded by reallocating the old event budget with no added cost and delivered strong results: 10:1 ROI on the recognition piece and about 35:1 across the enterprise program. Gables Residential also reported more than 11,000 recognitions per year, 95% associate participation, rising engagement scores, and improved productivity.
