Jersey City Medical Center (JCMC) needed a better way to recognize and engage healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Its existing Employee of the Month program was too infrequent to reinforce daily performance, safety behaviors, and connection among staff, so JCMC turned to WorkProud for a more modern recognition approach.
WorkProud implemented the “Recognizing You” program, a mobile-first iOS and Android recognition platform with manager awards, peer recognition, service awards, notifications, and a point-based prize catalog. Managers could review activity every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and give kudos across departments and facilities. The result was stronger employee engagement, more frequent recognition, improved morale, better reinforcement of safety compliance, and a clear sign of participation through extensive prize demand and positive employee response.
