Understand internal company jargon, buzzwords and acronyms

nbn Corporation, the Australian National Broadband Network operator with about 6,000 employees, struggled with pervasive internal jargon, acronyms and industry buzzwords that made it hard for staff—new and long‑tenured—to understand terms. To address this, nbn worked with Workplace from Meta and deployed Enablo’s Acronyms Bot within Workplace to provide an easy, crowd‑editable way for employees to look up and contribute definitions.

Using Workplace from Meta to host Enablo’s Acronyms Bot (launched August 2017), nbn implemented a desktop‑ and mobile‑accessible tool that returns quick definitions (e.g., DSL, ISDN, ADSL) and lets teams add new entries. The result is a continuously growing, searchable library with new acronyms added weekly, improving onboarding and on‑the‑fly clarity across the organization and making internal communication more efficient.
