Starbucks wanted to foster organic, peer-to-peer collaboration across field employees and headquarters, build a culture of recognition, and rapidly surface market insights from stores. To solve this, Starbucks adopted Workplace from Meta (Workplace) to enable direct, company-wide communication between store partners and HQ.
Using Workplace from Meta, Starbucks set up open groups like “Market insights” where any store manager could post observations; within months more than 80% of store managers were active weekly. In one case a manager’s post drew 40 comments and prompted the category marketing team to make a popular off‑menu drink an official menu item in under 24 hours—shrinking a process that normally takes months and improving knowledge-sharing and decision speed across the organization.
