Miami-Dade County Public Schools are turning classrooms into connected communities

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS), the fourth-largest U.S. school district with over 400 schools and 50,000 staff, faced persistent communication silos across schools and departments. To build a unified community for teachers, staff and support workers, the district adopted Workplace from Meta (Workplace) — leveraging familiar tools like Groups, Workplace Chat, Live Video and the News Feed to help thousands of educators connect and share best practices.

Workplace from Meta was rolled out district-wide to deliver announcements, run webinars and PD, streamline onboarding, and enable peer-to-peer curriculum and classroom sharing. By replacing some CCTV announcements with Workplace Live, enabling real‑time chats and group-based resource sharing, the platform helped unite staff across 400+ sites, improve culture and instructional impact, and reduce operational costs while increasing visibility and engagement among educators and support staff.
