Case Study: Vedanta achieves scalable idea generation and direct access to leadership with Workplace from Meta

Invite ideas from employees via a ‘Chairman Connect’ bot

Vedanta sought to give every employee direct access to its Chairman and leadership to surface ideas, feedback and questions across its global operations. To achieve this, Vedanta deployed Workplace from Meta and launched a custom “Chairman Connect” bot (developed with partner Leena.ai) so employees could submit interactions directly via Workplace Chat and track them with unique interaction IDs.

Using Workplace from Meta, the Chairman Connect bot routes submissions to a company queue managed by the PR team, issues interaction IDs, triggers a two‑question survey on response timeliness and quality, and feeds a monthly automated dashboard shared with the Chairman. Phase 1 rolled out to over 13,000 on‑roll employees globally in early 2017; the initiative increased idea generation and employee engagement, narrowed the distance between leadership and staff, and introduced measurable feedback and performance metrics for continuous improvement.
