To solve this, Illumina implemented Workplace from Meta (Workplace) and integrated it into their intranet to drive personalization and relevance.

Using Workplace from Meta, Illumina created a curated “official group” infrastructure synced to employee distribution lists and surfaced Workplace feeds on the intranet homepage so employees see top posts and location‑specific news. The platform was rolled out to 100% of employees in early 2017, has become the foundation of Illumina’s core communications, and has helped reduce noise while improving the relevance of internal messages.
