HOYTS, the second-largest cinema chain in Australia and New Zealand with 50 cinemas, over 430 screens and 3,300+ employees (90% part‑time), struggled with fragmented internal communication because most frontline staff had no work email and locations operated independently. To better integrate its frontline workforce and enable two‑way communication across cinemas and head office, HOYTS adopted Workplace from Meta.

Workplace from Meta was rolled out in 90 days, giving employees access to News Feed, company-wide groups, Workplace Chat and a mobile app to share updates, ideas and live video, creating a central collaboration hub and flattening HQ-to-frontline communication. The rollout drove strong engagement — 2K active weekly users, 100 active weekly groups, 390 weekly posts and 680 weekly comments/responses — boosting transparency, idea-sharing and consistent customer service across cinemas.
