Preview of the Hootsuite Case Study

How open communications helps Hootsuite move faster

Hootsuite, launched from Vancouver in 2008, is the world’s most widely used social media management platform with 16M customers and nearly 1,000 staff across 15 offices in 11 countries. Facing rapid global growth, Hootsuite needed to centralize information sharing and announcements and foster a culture of openness and personal accountability so employees could easily find and act on the information they needed. To address this challenge Hootsuite deployed Workplace from Meta, using Workplace features such as News Feed, Groups and Live Video.

Workplace from Meta moved communication out of email and closed channels into transparent feeds and active Groups, with executives posting regular updates and teams creating 150 active Groups—most notably Owls on the Move—to surface hires, role changes and internal metrics like People Movement. The change drove measurable impact: 96% of Hootsuite employees use Workplace weekly and about 80% of the company is on the platform, reducing repetitive messages and missed news while speeding decision-making and strengthening transparency and accountability.
