How MLSE used Workplace to deliver 500,000 meals to hospitals

Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment turned to Workplace from Meta when it needed a fast, intuitive way to coordinate a large-scale COVID-19 relief effort—Bringing Toronto Back To Its Feet—to prepare and deliver 500,000 meals to frontline health workers, their families and other community members. The organization’s challenge was to build internal awareness and rapidly recruit volunteers across departments without formal training or complex systems.

Workplace from Meta delivered Posts, Groups and Insights that allowed MLSE leaders to announce the program company-wide, share real-time updates, and streamline volunteer recruitment and resource allocation. Using Workplace from Meta, MLSE mobilized 450+ employee volunteers, reached 22 hospital sites across Toronto, produced up to 13,000 meals a day, and ultimately delivered 500,000 meals while improving communication and operational efficiency.
