How Airtel is using Workplace to connect frontline staff and work faster

Airtel, a leading global telecommunications company operating across 17 countries, needed to connect and coordinate nearly 10,000 retail staff across India — including about 6,000 franchisees who don’t have business email — to manage widely distributed frontline operations and speed up communication. To meet this mobile‑first outreach challenge, Airtel selected Workplace from Meta, deploying familiar social tools like Workplace Live and Workplace Chat for fast adoption.

Workplace from Meta was rolled out across Airtel’s retail business to enable daily live “huddles,” Pan‑India groups for sharing customer stories, and live role‑play training; the launch broadcast attracted over 1,000 live viewers and ~2,000 replay viewers. By using Workplace Live and Workplace Chat to share video, voice and large files, Airtel brought employees without email onto a single platform, improving connectivity and making the organization noticeably more connected, faster and more agile.
