A Workplace from Meta Case Study

Preview of the Bank of Ryukyus Case Study

Building seamless intra-bank communication and collaboration across 2000 employees and 75 branches

Bank of Ryukyus, a regional bank with 75 branches across Okinawa, faced siloed offices and slow, phone- and email-dependent communication that hampered decision‑making and knowledge sharing. To create seamless, real‑time collaboration the bank implemented Workplace from Meta, using features such as Live Video, Workplace Chat and News Feed to connect employees across branches.

Workplace from Meta enabled live‑streamed meetings, group‑based approvals, emergency comms and a mobile‑first rollout (staff were trained and given smartphones), producing measurable impact: 250 active groups, 100% of active users on mobile, and Bank of Ryukyus becoming the first bank in Japan to use Workplace. The solution reduced phone calls, shortened approval cycles and lowered per‑transaction operational costs while improving crisis communications and staff engagement.
