Build a learning community of teachers across the state

Tamil Nadu State Government, which employs roughly 290,000 teachers across districts and towns, faced a challenge getting dispersed educators to share teaching methods and resources at scale. To build a statewide learning community and improve collaboration, the department adopted Workplace from Meta as the platform for teacher communication and peer learning.

Using Workplace from Meta, the department set up open, subject-specific groups with pinned objectives and encouraged champion teachers to post lessons, tips and local discoveries; the platform’s See Translation feature also removed language barriers. The rollout enabled state-wide sharing and feedback loops, producing peer-led learning and development at scale, enhanced collaboration among teachers, and better-trained, more prepared school staff across the state.
