Automatically create Office 365 spaces associated with Workplace groups to improve collaboration

Groupe Bel, a global snacking company with 13,000 employees, deployed Workplace from Meta to boost team collaboration but ran into two issues: Workplace did not support co‑editing of multiple documents shared in a group, and many employees rarely used Office 365 or found creating O365 groups time‑consuming and complex.

To address this, Groupe Bel developed an internal bot called “Botman” that automates the creation of Office 365 groups and links them to newly created Workplace from Meta groups after confirming with the group admin. Botman replicates group names, members and confidentiality settings, posts the O365 group link in the Workplace group, and can be invoked later via WorkChat—streamlining setup, increasing awareness and use of Office 365 while keeping documents on O365. No specific quantitative metrics were reported, but the solution reduced administrative friction and improved alignment between Workplace from Meta and O365.
