Case Study: Tamil Nadu State Government increases teacher recognition and statewide collaboration with Workplace from Meta

Allow teachers to share their achievements at the state level

The Tamil Nadu State Government, which employs roughly 290,000 teachers across districts and towns, needed a way for widely dispersed educators to share their achievements and best practices at the state level. To solve this communication and recognition gap, the department adopted Workplace from Meta, using district- and state-level groups to enable teachers to post rich multimedia stories and updates.

Workplace from Meta enabled open groups where teachers can share photos, videos and text and where colleagues and leadership can like, react and comment (for example, one post showed 21 reactions and 11 comments). The platform increased motivation through wider recognition, improved visibility into achievements—helping identify potential leadership pipelines—and promoted peer learning across the system, connecting and engaging the network of ~290,000 teachers.
