Airtel operates retail stores across 22 Indian states with a field force of roughly 10,000 largely junior frontline employees, and leadership faced three challenges: aligning the distributed workforce on mission and priorities, delivering frequent coaching, and keeping staff motivated and connected. To tackle this, Airtel adopted Workplace from Meta (Workplace by Facebook) to open a direct channel between the CEO and the retail frontline.

Using Workplace from Meta, Airtel created a pan‑India group called “Life @ Retail” and runs regular CEO live sessions (hosted informally via mobile), plus events, polls and threaded comments to foster two‑way dialogue. The initiative engages the full cohort of ~10,000 members, with thousands watching and interacting live, delivering direct CEO-to-store connection, clearer alignment on priorities and contextual coaching for frontline teams.
