A quick study in digitalising communication

Australian Catholic University faced the challenge of connecting 2,500 researchers, educators and support staff across eight campuses and breaking down siloed communication between faculties and professional teams. To digitalize internal communications and foster collaboration, the university turned to Workplace from Meta.

Workplace from Meta was rolled out in a four‑month pilot using Groups, Workplace Chat, Live video and News Feed to enable peer-to-peer dialogue and cross‑departmental knowledge sharing. The initiative drove measurable impact: 76% of staff reported improved connectedness, 63% saw more collaboration opportunities, perceived reliance on email fell 13%, and 33% more staff said it was easier to share project updates — outcomes that also helped campaigns like campus sustainability reach quick, practical results.
