METRO AG, a global wholesale retailer, faced fragmentation across countries and business units that left METRONOM and development teams working in silos, lacking measurable customer data and causing delays and unfocused work. To drive a customer-focused, data-driven transformation, METRO AG adopted the Objectives and Key Results (OKR) framework using Workpath’s software to make goals, responsibilities and cross-team dependencies visible.
Workpath implemented its OKR platform, visual goal tracking, regular Check-Ins and training to build alignment, faster feedback loops and internal capability to manage the change. As a result, METRO AG shortened planning cycles from 3 years to 12 months (organization) and 6 months (operational units), accelerated improvement cycles by 3–6x, shortened delivery cycles by up to 150%, improved strategic data quality for faster course corrections, enabled more targeted resource allocation, and increased employee satisfaction and productivity.
