FusionAuth, a provider of self-hosted identity solutions, faced the challenge of securing AI agents within their infrastructure. Their existing identity provider, FusionAuth, lacked a dedicated entity for agents, making it difficult to track which agent performed an action, on whose authority, and under what scope, a critical question from security teams and auditors.

WorkOS implemented its AuthKit and Agent Registration service to provide a unified solution. This gave agents a first-class identity with scoped, short-lived credentials and integrated WorkOS Audit Logs, ensuring the same identifier was used for both credential issuance and action recording. This eliminated the need to correlate data across separate systems, providing a clear and immediate audit trail to answer security and compliance questions.
