Cursor writes over half its PRs with WorkOS

Cursor, a development environment company, faced a challenge of managing the high volume of pull requests generated by AI coding agents. The sheer number of asynchronous tasks like handling CI failures, review bot comments, and rebases was consuming significant engineering attention and creating a shepherding burden for its team.

WorkOS provided a solution by enabling Cursor to implement a system where a secondary "babysitter" agent could supervise the work of the primary coding agents. This was made safe through WorkOS's headless command surface for machine-readable supervision, scoped job responsibilities, and the use of Relay to securely proxy credentials and prevent token exposure. As a result, by July 2026, cloud agents were authoring more than half of all PRs merged into Cursor's monorepo, dramatically increasing engineering productivity.
