Jcpenney Transforms Employee Engagement & Productivity With Workjam

JCPenney faced the challenge of improving engagement, retention and frontline productivity across its distribution centers and retail operations for more than 50,000 employees. To address these issues, JCPenney partnered with WorkJam and deployed WorkJam’s digital frontline workplace app (a “super app”) to centralize communication, scheduling, task management, learning and early wage access.

WorkJam implemented features including ExpressPay for early wage access, easy shift swaps, task and training modules, and analytics integrations, which together reduced turnover and boosted associate ownership and engagement. The WorkJam deployment led to measurable impacts: employee referrals tripled, productivity and customer satisfaction rose, and JCPenney gained deeper operational insights via WorkJam’s analytics and open API.
