Case Study: Carlsberg achieves a 3‑week reduction in its financial reporting cycle and more consistent annual reports with Workiva

A Workiva Case Study

How Carlsberg Cut Three Weeks From Their Financial Reporting Cycle with Workiva and Deloitte

Carlsberg Group, the Danish brewing giant founded in 1847, faced a persistent challenge in producing two connected annual reports plus other disclosures using a manual, time‑intensive process that often left reports published a month apart and vulnerable to inconsistency and last‑minute disruption (notably during geopolitical upheaval in 2022). The team needed a more reliable, collaborative reporting platform to reduce risk, maintain consistent narrative and numbers across reports, and shorten turnaround times.

Working with Deloitte to implement the Workiva platform, Carlsberg linked data and whole sections of text across reports, enabled real‑time collaboration, and established a disciplined data model. The result: the team published both reports simultaneously, cut three weeks from the reporting cycle, improved disclosure quality and auditability, and gained reusable content that accelerates future reporting and supports broader consolidation plans.
