First Across the Finish Line: How Workiva Powered JDE Peet’s Inaugural Annual Report

JDE Peet’s — formed by the 2019 merger of Jacobs Douwe Egberts and Peet’s Coffee and listed on Euronext in 2020 — faced the challenge of producing its first 200+ page annual report and meeting upcoming ESEF requirements while managing disparate Word and Excel files, multiple versions, manual reconciliations, merged reporting packs and remote collaboration during the pandemic. The team needed a single source of truth and a way to handle XBRL tagging and XHTML formatting without adding risk or delay.

By extending Workiva across its reporting process and working with Workiva’s Customer Success team, JDE Peet’s centralized data, automated links and validations, and implemented XBRL tagging with easy XHTML conversion. The result was a consistent, compliant ESEF filing completed ahead of schedule, reduced risk and effort, and confidence that future filings will be much faster.
