A Workiva Case Study
Baker Hughes, a global energy technology company committed to a net-zero target by 2050 (and a 50% emissions reduction by 2030), needed to strengthen its sustainability reporting as disclosure requirements and stakeholder expectations evolved. Led by Corporate Sustainability Manager Irina Markina, the company faced the challenge of producing investor-grade ESG data and building a deliberate, multi-year reporting foundation with robust controls to support transparency and strategic decision-making.
Baker Hughes partnered with PwC for a data-driven sustainability strategy and adopted Workiva’s cloud reporting platform to simplify ESG, SEC, and statutory reporting, build automation, and enable dashboard visibility. The result was stronger information governance, trusted data for investors and stakeholders, improved oversight and transparency, and the flexibility to meet changing ESG demands while accelerating its low‑carbon transition plans.
