A national airline serving more than 100 North American cities faced a staffing and process bottleneck when its senior financial accountant—the power user who compiled data and built external and internal financial reports in Wdesk—left the company. The director of financial reporting was left juggling those duties on top of his own work while managing extremely data-heavy SEC filings and frequently changing KPIs that had required time-consuming manual updates.
Workiva’s Customer Success Manager trained a contractor and later the new hire, and the team made full use of Wdesk features—linking, outline, review/blackline, cloud access and Binders—to streamline workflows and collaboration. As a result, the airline cut almost two weeks off the 10-K process (one week off quarterly filings), reduced time spent checking numbers so the team can focus on analysis, eliminated printing costs for management reports, and saved on training through an intuitive platform.
