A leading U.S. sporting goods retailer with stores in all 50 states was managing schedules with paper calendars and Microsoft Excel, which made the process slow, error-prone, and hard to coordinate across departments and locations. Assistant managers struggled with formula mistakes, double-booking, outdated printed schedules, and no companywide visibility for budgeting, creating inefficiencies and lost revenue opportunity. WorkforceHub’s TimeSimplicity scheduling solution was selected to replace the manual approach.
WorkforceHub implemented TimeSimplicity, a cloud-based scheduling system that automated scheduling, reduced overtime and overstaffing, and improved communication through email, text notifications, and an online Trade Board for shift swaps. The retailer gained a single source of information, better insight into employee availability and hours remaining in pay periods, and easier coverage of last-minute callouts. The system was rolled out to about half of the stores, and the company reported tremendous benefits, with plans to expand it to all locations.
