National University Hospital (NUH) in Singapore, a 1,250-bed acute-care and tertiary hospital with 8,000 staff, needed a better way to manage complex workforce scheduling across its clinics, wards, theatres, and departments. NUH turned to Workforce Optimizer and its AI-enabled workforce management solution to handle labor planning, scheduling, and workforce deployment more efficiently.

Workforce Optimizer implemented WFO hospital-wide to predict labor demand, optimize rosters and patient-visit routes, improve redeployment during unplanned events, and provide better workforce visibility. The results included 71% less time spent on scheduling, an estimated savings of 2,760 manager days per year, 5–15% labor cost savings per unit of service, and 80% of assignments going to staff’s “Most Preferred” shifts.
