Wellesley College, a leading liberal arts college for women founded in 1870 with about 2,350 undergraduates and 1,200 faculty and staff, needed to modernize cumbersome, paper‑based administrative processes. Employees faced lengthy steps to update personal information, view payslips, or request time off; faculty mailed receipts for reimbursements; back‑office teams were bogged down by manual workflows; and internal grant status was hard to track.

Wellesley implemented Workday’s integrated suite—Financial Management, Student, Human Capital Management, Payroll, Time Tracking, Expenses, Procurement, and Grants Management—bringing self‑service and mobile capabilities to campus. As a result, employees and supervisors can submit and approve time‑off on mobile devices, faculty submit receipts in Workday and receive reimbursements within 3–5 days, and faculty now have direct insight into internal grant status.
